Founded in Kentucky, over forty years ago, the Best Friends™ Approach is predicated on a simple concept – everyone needs a best friend as their cognition declines. This approach has been recognized in over forty countries, multiple publications, and is at the heart of how we render care.
Our highly trained staff gathers the individual’s life story to ensure that all team members see past the disease and have a glimpse of the whole person. This allows us to reduce anxiety and ensure personalized care.

Mrs. Mckenzie spent her life on the stage, performing at the local theater and teaching vocal lessons. Because our team understands this, and knows her life story, we are better able to incorporate singing, dancing, and theater into her everyday routine. Dancing to her favorite hits before dinner time and celebrating “National Elvis Day – one of her favorites!
